In December 2021, our Startup Programs ran a “Women Entrepreneurs” special edition. For this reason, we onboarded exclusively female-led startups into our following batch in order to emphasize Scaleway’s dedication to gender equality. But that’s not all we did. In order to make this special edition truly memorable, we held a round table! On that occasion, we had the privilege to welcome brilliant entrepreneurs who lead their own companies or work in high-responsibility positions while fighting every day for a more inclusive tech industry. Today, it is our pleasure to share with you our joint discussion on “How challenging it is to be a woman entrepreneur in the tech industry”.

Claudia is actively supporting other women by sharing her experience within large tech companies and her journey towards founding her own company and developing innovative products.
Céline Delaugère, founder and CEO of Eva Engines and BAJS AI, has a dual profile: on the one hand, she was trained at the École des Mines de Paris and in Université Paris Dauphine-PSL in Artificial Intelligence Research, and on the other hand, she spent four years working as an international model for brands like Hermès, Nina Ricci, or Victoria Beckham. While observing the challenges of digitalization, environmental responsibility, and the optimization of fashion processes, she saw the possibility to help this sector using artificial intelligence.
Caroline Lair is the founder of The Good AI, a community of 100+ AI startups and talents addressing sustainability challenges in various industries. They give access to business opportunities, jobs, talents, and investors (you can apply here). She’s also the co-founder of Women in AI, an international nonprofit working towards gender-inclusive AI solutions.
Carina Klaffl is the Head of the Grow F accelerator by Female Founders, working closely with over 49 female-led ventures on their journey to get investment-readiness. Female Founders is one of the European market leaders for women in tech & innovation. They work with startups, investors & corporates who believe in the power of gender diversity. Prior to that, Carina was driving sales in several startups both in Vienna and Amsterdam.
Sinem Tuncer is the founder of Arkive, where she is responsible for strategy, products, sales, and operations. She has 10 years of experience in supply chain management, data quality, operations, and product development, most notably as Head of Channel Management at Uberall/Navads, after rejecting a job at Google. Arkive exists to promote circularity within the beauty industry. Arkive is the destination to shop for unused, unopened beauty products, helping consumers fight waste by saving these products from landfill.
